Car hire at Paphos Airport

Paphos is a district of villas, hill villages and beaches strung along 60 km of coast, and a car is how people live there. The airport is the main pick-up point, with the rental desks in the terminal hall and the cars in the car park across the forecourt; the smaller Cypriot companies meet customers at the doors.

Driving is on the left, British-style, and the roads are good: a toll-free motorway east to Limassol, wide roads through town, and narrower but well-surfaced roads up to the Troodos and out to Polis. Only the Akamas peninsula and the Lara beach track need a 4x4, and most contracts exclude them.

Driving from the airport

From the airport road, turn west on the B6 for Yeroskipou, Kato Paphos and the harbour, continuing through town for Coral Bay and Peyia; turn east and join the A6 motorway for Pissouri, Limassol (50 minutes) and beyond. For Polis and Latchi, cross town and take the B7 north over the hills, about an hour. Petrol stations close on Sunday afternoons and use self-service pumps with card or notes.
